Hawks and Spears and Vypers, oh my!
So I have had often wondered how many epic bases I can bash out in one beer and podcast fuelled painting frenzy. It turns out the answer is 21!

Jetbikes, flagpoles and bread clips
I have been procrastinating for a while now over how to represent shining spear jetbikes in my epic games.
After a few drafts I am starting to settle on something like the following...

Aegis Defence Lines and Razorwire
Unmanned Planetary Defence Force defences on the Imperial Prison Colony world of Neu-Diemenslandt.
Defences such as these are often set up at strategic locations on Imperial worlds where a large number of recruits may be rapidly drafted into planetary defence forces should the need arise.
The robust nature of the defences, and the fact that they are relatively easy to repair means that they may stand fit for purpose for decades with a minimum of maintenance.

Epic Objective Markers
One of the things that I've been up to lately is making objective markers for my Epic armies. The Tournament scenario in Epic Armageddon requires three objectives to be set up in each half of the board, an I have been modelling markers that match my armies.
While these look cool and thematic, they do have a tendency to blend in with the rest of the battle, meaning that they can be a little hard for my opponent to keep track of. "Which land raider is the objective again?".
So I decided to make some thematic, blatantly obvious markers that can be used on my city themed table and show in no uncertain terms where the objectives are.

Epic Fortified Turrets
Turrets such as these are often installed by planetary defence forces, and can provide a first line of defence to Imperial settlements and infrastructure. Occasionally they survive long enough to be utilised by other Imperial forces that get mobilised to war zones after the initial contact with the PDF has been made.

Some Death Guard Reinforcements
Tactical detachments in the XIVth Legion often operate in dense terrain and hostile war zones. These heavy support squads are an example of a well armed addition that can dramatically increase the firepower of an infantry detachment. Often armed with flak missiles, squads such as these can provide some defence against enemy fliers, however should additional flier defence be required then a Whirlwind Hyperios like the one shown can be added to the formation to make it a viable threat against all but the heaviest of fliers.

DIY Epic Hellblades
Pict capture of Hellblade fighters of an unknown design. Note the more heavily armoured tail section on the fighters, possibly housing an increased fuel load for support of longer ranged strike operations.

Dark Future Kitbash Turrets
So I'm fully enthused about Dark Future at the moment! The distant future of 1995 where lawless gangs rule the post apocalyptic badlands.
I'm away from home, and what I would give to have a die cast car or two with me to work with! Ah well, such is life.
But I have managed to make some progress, even without the cars.
I kit bashed (and scratch built) up three turret weapon prototypes; a chaingun, a heavy laser (aka lascannon), and an autocannon.

Vehicle Damage Markers
Continuing my theme of wargaming aids made from things you shove in your ear I came up with some vehicle damage markers for epic games.

Blast Markers on a Budget
Having played a bit of epic again lately I've realised that I needed something to use as blast markers.
Not wanting to spend a single cent of my meagre budget on anything other than models, and occasionally paints, I looked around for quite a while until I came up with this innovative, if somewhat disgusting, option.
