Blast Markers on a Budget

Having played a bit of epic again lately I've realised that I needed something to use as blast markers.

Not wanting to spend a single cent of my meagre budget on anything other than models, and occasionally paints, I looked around for quite a while until I came up with this innovative, if somewhat disgusting, option.

Due to the nature of my work I have to wear ear plugs like this. When you chop the stem off and paint them in a suitably explosive manner they become blast markers! I just have to make sure I scrape the crusty bits off first. Simple.
